The word “Charmeuse”, originated in France, is the feminine of charmeur or “charmer”. In terms of fashion, it means “a luxurious fabric of silk or polyester in semi-lustrous satin weave”. 

Charmeuse Designs was founded by our CEO Masoma Hussain. Masoma leveraged her education in Business Management along with her passion for design to create Charmeuse Designs. Her vision of Charmeuse Designs was born when she identified the gap in market for hijabs for festive attire. When materials like modal, woven, chiffon did not achieve a formal look for her, she began crafting hijabs from materials such as polyester, viscose, and cuprammonium rayon to complete the proper style. Her struggles to find the right kinds of fabric for festive attire inspired her to bring luxurious shawls and hijabs into the market.
